Course Conduct

The Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at El-Amin University offers a dynamic program aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in Nigeria’s rapidly growing ICT sector. The curriculum covers key areas such as computer networks, software development, telecommunications, data management, and IT infrastructure. Students are trained to apply ICT solutions in various sectors, addressing the country’s evolving needs in education, business, healthcare, and governance.

Description of Courses

There is a high demand for Information and Communication Technology specialists globally, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous functioning of businesses and non-business organizations. The degree programme in EU focuses on producing Information and Communication Technology graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage computing infrastructure, support computer users, and increase business value through productivity.

The programme’s philosophy is to equip students with the skills and knowledge for seamless integration of ICT in organizations and support computer system users with best practices and professional standards. The objectives of the programme include providing students with a broad knowledge of ICT, empowering them as problem-solvers with ICT tools, and preparing them for professional practice in the ICT sector.

The programme has hands-on practical components to enhance students’ engagement, focusing on specialties in digital technology such as web applications, multimedia, mobile computing, and internet communications. Graduates of the programme will possess employability skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and the ability to work under pressure, enabling them to pursue careers in ICT Commercialization and Technology Management.

The programme emphasizes the development of 21st Century skills like critical thinking, creativity, media literacy, flexibility, social skills, problem-solving, information literacy, and global awareness to prepare students for the evolving technological landscape.

Programme UTME Direct Entry Remarks
B.A Arabic
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in Arabic, Islamic studies, Hausa, and two other Arts/Social Science subjects.
Two ‘A’ level credit passes in relevant subjects one of which should be Arabic in NCE or ND with at least a merit level.
UTME subjects are: Arabic, Islamic Studies, Hausa, and English subjects.
B.A. Islamic Studies
Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in Arabic, Islamic studies, Hausa, and two other Arts/Social Science subjects.
(a)Two ‘A’ level passes in relevant subjects. One of the advanced level subjects should be Islamic Studies. NCE or ND at merit level.
